The large “Jana” basket is hand knitted from 2 different materials: bulrush – “smaar” in Arabic and halfah grass.
Round small basket “Perla” made of palm leaves with pearl handles. The basket is handmade by our artisan in southern Tunisia. The production of handles takes up the most time, two whole days. Our artisan uses a needle to pick up pearl after pearl on a nylon thread and sews them on the handles. The colors of the pearls are chosen to match to the color of the lining. The lining is made of cotton in a beige color. Inside of the basket is a small pocket, where you can store your keys, cell phone or other things that you can quickly get from the basket.
